Happiness will not work for minimum wage

Do not mistake it for a lifelong goal
Wasting your precious mortality
Chasing the pot of gold at the rainbow’s end
Treat it instead as a way of life

Shed away the burdening layers
Of duty sworn to acquaintances
Of existential complacency
Free yourself within its infinite dimensions

Beware the falsity of blissful ignorance
Asking for no reciprocation
Providing merely hind-sighted contentment
Happiness is not a deserved given
