Deep within

Enlightenment descends
And lightly touches my thoughts
Subtle yet powerful its manner
Quietly waiting for exploration

Time is of no consequence
It smiles in its infinite wisdom
No taunting or precipitance
Quietly waiting for exploration

No ego to bruise, jealousy foreign
Taking a back seat to triviality knowing
A sweet victory for me is certain
Quietly waiting for exploration

Ready and in need the price is paid
Attentive and willing I command it to rise
I explore to the depths of my being
Grateful for its kind patience

way to wake up the left side of the brain!

you should mention that you wrote it.....cause I assumed you just read it somewhere and liked it so you posted it on your blog...

do you ever wish that you could be regarded as an artist, and so anything you produce automatically becomes art? its the I-could've-done-that syndrome....

ah, my friend steph, the next Emily Dickinson (and i say that with no sarcasm in case it comes across that way)

The left side of my brain has been dormant for 23 years. I'm actually as surprised as you are that I actually have a left side.
Thanks to the both of you for your incredulous reaction...I still can't believe you didn't think I wrote that. Good times.

I like this one best (more than "Within Will Match Without" and "The Human Wonder"). The November one was my first poem since high school. The rhyming thing takes away from it (that's why I've stopped that practice). I spent more effort on finding words that rhyme than I did trying to write a good poem.

Irene, I think you'll find that all these poems relate to you if you understand what I'm writing about. It's like a high school English assignment. Dissect the poem, find the meanings, figure out why I chose that title.

I'd want to be regarded as artistic but I don't want anything I produce to automatically count as a work or art. I want to earn it. But...I'd like to be called an "arr-tiste" regardless.
